The Crookers radiometer was invented in 1875. It has a grinder with 4 paddles, one side of the vane is blackened and to another is bright or white. When you receive an external radiation, the black side absorbs radiation and the other reflected it, which makes the first palette moves away from the source of radiation. This effect produces a constant rotation of vanes, with a speed that depends on the source of radiation. According to Maxwell and Reynolds, the effect occurs because one of the edges of the vanes of gas contains warmer molecules and hit the paddles.
It also moves with infrared radiation like a hot iron or a kitchen fire.
